Our development team created the Liver Meeting mobile website in partnership with global agency Cohn & Wolfe for Janssen Therapeutics’ annual Liver Meeting. Meeting organizers wanted to encourage participants to connect with each other both inside and outside the conference on their smartphones and tablets.
The website was built using our own agency-friendly Content Management System to give conference organizers the ability to update conference information, see when and where attendees check-in on the site, and post photos and updated news about the conference.
The web app was designed to give participants the ability to connect offline during the weekend of the convention through FourSquare-inspired “check-ins”, read up on convention news and see photos posted on the app.
40% of attendees used the web app
38% used the app at least twice during the weekend
293 attendee check-ins during the weekend.

What does a smartphone-friendly website and Hurricane Sandy
have in common?
Answer: Both were developed over the course of two weeks. While Hurricane Sandy was brewing in the Atlantic, we were hard at work designing plans for the smartphone friendly website for Janssen. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, our New Jersey-based crew of designers and developers worked by candlelight and generator power to develop, test and launch Janssen’s Liver Conference website. We don’t take deadlines lightly and this example shows the lengths we’ll go in order to meet them.
